hi, i've just upgraded to an S700i and very happy with it.

i can get everything working except accesssnig the web using GSM and NOT GPRS.

i want to browse the web over GSM cos i have loads of free mins i can use -and dont do it that often - but would be nice from time to time.

i've looked elsewhere on the forum but only talks about internet and GPRS.

i'm using the voda number (+447836900808) but then what username and password should i set so i can use it as a kinda dial up internet accont and not just for WAP.

thanks

tim

don't think you can do that...there IS a difference between minutes and internet access...

If you want to access the internet its either WAP or GPRS...nothing to do with minutes....

I recommend you just use up all your minutes talking with your mates.

i can use my free mins as wap time - i know this for a fact

i also know you can do this - i got real internet on my t610 (for my own tiny pages) using a dial-up type service via voda

i cant use my free time on calls to mates - i dont have any - hence why i'm on the internet on a saturday.

Nonsense. You can enter WAP (the phone internet so to speak) via GPRS or via GSM (= dialling in using your minutes).

I have the same problem actually on vodafone NL. I have retrieved the GSM data settings from the vodafone.nl site but when I try to connect it won't.

I've had similar problems when attempting to dial in to my email account

Is it possible at all to use 'dial up' on a V800 or is this one more 'barred' function by vodafone??
