Bookmark topic
Hi bought a T610 off ebay nice looking phone says it is unlocked stuck my vodafone sim into it and find it registers but cant make or recieve phone calls. i will however recieve a text so im really not sure whats wrong. any ideas.
When i try and make a phone call it just gives a tone straight away like the number not recognised one. and the same when i try and phone it.

Hmmm. . . . Definitely a faulty handset. Does the signal bar fall off when trying to call? P.s try to get money back.

I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but it sounds like the T610's blocked, i.e. reported lost or stolen, or the previous owner didn't pay their bill.
On vodafone or T-Mobile, if you put your sim into a blocked phone it will register a signal, and let you send/recieve texts. However, it won't let you make/recieve calls. Try putting an Orange or O2 sim card in if you have one, if it fails to register a signal and the message 'invalid mobile' is displayed on the screen then the phone is definately blocked!
Try contacting the person you bought the phone off on Ebay, it could be a genuine mistake, I had a similar problem with an 8310 and after contacting the seller the phone was eventually unblocked! However, I suspect a scam somewhere and you may not get lucky. Was it bought from someone with a good feedback rating?

Although of course this is illegal! it would of course work, but not something I'd recommend!
