Why is it that my P910i battery only charges to 95% when turned off and 100% when turned on?

I've never had this problem with my P800 which would charge to 100% in wat ever state it was.

Maybe anyone of you could fill me in on this?

That is why it's called "optimized charging"; to get the most out of the phone.
My question to you is: Why do you turn your phone off when charging?
If it is to get peace an quiet you turn the phone on to silent.

The phone actually need nearly 5 % of it's capcity to start up.

Hmmm... than I guess the P800 is less of a power consumer than the p910i! Because minutes after a cold boot (or overnight charge), it still shows 100% as the battery capacity.

I know the p910i's screen consumes a lot of power, but 5% after a cold boot is way too much in my book. It even has a longer standby time than my P800. But I guess that just something I have to live with then.

Next time I'll try charging it in flightmode.
