> DCU-11 from eBay - driver problems
Bookmark topic
After a quick search I see I'm not alone in struggling with getting the drivers to work for the DCU-11 that I bought on eBay.
The CD that came with it has just got the burnt SE drivers, which don't work. What I'm wondering is if anyone has the correct CD for this cable or knows where else I can find the drivers. The cables are obviously cheap knock-offs from China, have traced it to a website, but it had been sold to a search engine.
Since this "brand" jk electronics seems to make up about 60% of the DCU-11 cables available on eBay I wondered if anyone else had managed to get theirs to work? Or could email me/give me a link to a working driver?
Here is an example of the JK DCU-11's on eBay:

Thanks in advance.

You're not mentioning what phone you want to use the cable up towards? There is different dricvers for different phones.
Have a look
here. It's a list of the drivers avalable for the DCU-11.
See if any of those drivers are for your phone.

Thanks
I have a T630 and my bf has a P910 that he wants to use it with. But since I don't have the phone attatched when trying to get the cable drivers to work I hadn't thought the phone would make the difference.
I'll try installing with the phone attached later.
Thanks.

another problem with the DCU-11 installer disc is that it doesn't come with the File Manager 2.5.9.0. We have to download it from the Sony Ericsson website. Its so troublesome.
why can't they just include it so we could make full use of the disc?

Simply because the SW on the CD are from when the CD was produced whils the SW on

is the updated version.

I had a problem loading the driver under W2K. The drivers supplied with the cable are wrong. Mine kept trying to load the wrong driver and create a USB port (the cable is a serial device). My final solution was:
1. Remove all traces of previously loaded drivers for DCU-11, uninstall & also the system seems to make a copy of any driver it loads (faulty or not) and then use that even when you point it to a new one. On my PC this was c:\winnt\inf\oem7.inf. There may be a quicker way of finding it but I searched by date and then manually viewed files to locate correct one & then removed.
2. Copy driver from CD on PC, rename DCUbus.inf to DCUbus.xxx
3. Edit DCUw2k.inf with the following change: (e.g. remove &MI_00&OS_NT)
;------------------------------------------------------------------
; Device-by-device entries
;------------------------------------------------------------------
[SLAB]
;%SLAB.Comm.Desc% = SLAB.Install, USB\VID_10A6&PID_AA26&MI_00&OS_NT
%SLAB.Comm.Desc% = SLAB.Install, USB\VID_10A6&PID_AA26
4. Prob worth a re-boot, then plug it back in & try re-installing driver pointing to PC location

did you ever get this to work? I'm having the same issue here with a DCU-11 USB cable.
