> Using MP3s as ringtones on S700i
Bookmark topic
I can't use MP3s on my S700i as ringtones.
I'm fully aware of the reason for this (Vodafone)!
I have read all over the forums regarding this but my problem is thi, I only use a Mac PowerBook at home with the built in bluetooth.
Can't find any drm packages for Mac.
Any help greatly appreciated.

The best way to go is to unlock and debrand your phone, mate!
Check out
www.setool.net
I think that if you ask gbrooks3 here at the forums for advice and assistance, he will gladly comply.

Contacted gbrooks3 and he said "Unlocking the phone wont help. Flashing it will
DRM packager is freely avaialble on the interent "
What I ended up doing was to ask a mate with a PC to download drm, i then sent him the appropriate sound file, then he converted it then e-mailed it back and i bluetoothed it to my S700.
Bit long winded but it works.
Thanks
MJ

That sounds very long winded..
I bought my s700 a couple of weeks ago myself from Voda so it came with the voda firmware... I completely forgot about the branding that voda does - I was just looking at the price tag
BUT, this site totally helped out - I've now bought myself a service cable and used DaVinci to debrand my phone!!!
Fully functional, and looks much much better (the icons etc).
The only sign of Voda on the phone now are the stickers, but that doesn't bother me too much.
DRM was a good start, but I recommend going the whole hog and flashing the phone
