I prefer a smartphone considering the form factor.
With exception of i-Mate Jam a.k.a. O2 XDA II Mini, most of PDA-Phones size are bigger than most of smartphones.
Also, most of smartphones have a traditional phone keypad that very useful when typing sms rather than using stylus-pen or opening the phone to use QWERTY keyboard (exception : of Nokia 7710 and one of Motorola that have no keypad).

So I prefer a phone that has PDA function/capability, the one so-called smartphone.

I guess you're not deciding between K700 and D500 anymore?

I'm surprised, being an SE forum you didn't choose the P910 or P900 as your smartphone example or is the xphone II specifically the smartphone you want to decide for now?

either way, I've made my choice which I am sure you have read about in many similar threads and I am very very happy with the JAM/XDA II mini or whatever you want to call it.

I guess a large part of it is the size. not much bigger than your average phone but sporting a huge screen by comparison and the windows mobile operating system has so much software available for it because of the wider market than say, the symbian O/S

I also love the way I can browse in landscape mode and the browser itself is heaps better than I have used on any other phone

I could prattle on but I'm just repeating myself and one day I really will finish my jam review. actually I'm flying to Oz next week so will probably get that finished on the plane since there will definitly be no distractions (unless I am very lucky!)

Smartphone. No matter how high end your PDA is you still need a phone. This message was posted from a Nokia

@masseur

Initially yes. After looking at k600. I thought hey, better wait for a while despite D500 won the award in Cannes. I would have chosen k700 anyway.

The P910 to me is way too much to pay at RM2,999. That's why I'm looking at alternative. As age is going up, my memory will be going down. Keep forgeting my dates. Yeah, missed a few 'good' one. That's why thinking of pda to help me as I don't have Secretary too.

Hope you manage to finish the report, but also wish to wish you good luck on the plane. Cheers!

I'm quite tempted by the Imate Jam, I've been hoping O2 would bring it out so I could get a good contract deal on it, but sadly not - right now I have three smartphones, SE P900, Nokia 6630 and an SPV C500. The main feature they all lack is wireless, that would be my main reason to get a Jam or PDA2K, the 6630 and SPV C500 also lack a touchscreen which I find makes their interface a lot more clumsy but then again the C500 is a lot smaller and lighter than the P900.

So I guess my answer is I wouldn't be prepared to spend the extra on a highend PDA phone, it would only be if I could get it cheap - I'm happy with my smartphones for now.
