Hi guys,
I got my Sony PSP last week, and up until recently I was going to get a DS however when I realised the PSP took memory stick duo pro I changed my mind and bought the PSP. I figured if im going to have a pile of memory cards they might as well all be the same type.

Bit of info, the screen is amazing, seriously. I was super impressed when my P800 turned up and again when I got my P910 but this is a whole other level. 4.3" widescreen excelent contrast and colour.

It will play MP3 from the memory stick or the UMD (you have to buy the UMD's as they are read only) and video in the same manner.

The video from the memory stick must be a specified MP4 formatt at a various rates up to 768bps. So at the maximum MP4 resoloution it takes about 1mb per minute of footage which is not so good.

WiFi flash updates (A beta flash update has been moving around that includes web browser software and a bunch of other goodies).

As for games, I got hot shots golf and my friend got ridge racer and vampire something or other (cant remember the exact name). All of which are in Japanese of course, as for the graphics. PS2 level easily, the games available on release appear to be far more advanced than the PS2 release titles as well. I am having no real language difficulties but if you get one you my want to stick to the golf game or ridge racers. Everything else is a bit too language dependent.

As far as I know its out in the US ~end of march and europe ~may.

Huge anouncements recently including GTA on it.

Battery life about 6 hours of solid gaming, I've tried

you chose PSP for the same reason I chose a Sony Cybershot, the memory cards are compatible with my phone. I wouldn't buy a portable game console though, even if it could use the memory from my phone or my camera.

Yeah, theres nothing like having to buy hundreds of pounds worth of memory cards for each individual device you buy.

I wonder what other things people on this board have paid a premium for just to be able to use duo's?
