Hey,
I currently have a k700i on orange pay as you go.
I'm thinking of going on contract with 3, but it's gonna come with a Nokia 7600. IMO I think that's a piece of lemon shaped sh*t!
That's why I was just wondering that if I could get my K700i unlocked, would I be able to use my 3g sim in it?
I looked at the full specs for each phone and they both work on 1800 and 900 GSM networks.

You might be able to use a 3 SIM but I'm not certain BUT you certainly won't be able to use any of their services as it is not a 3G phone.
The best u can hope for is to use the free minutes of call time

Yes, that's exactly what I want.
I'm only going on 3 for the minutes and texts....I don't give a rats ass about the features!

They are not going to subsdise a £500 phone for you not to use there services. or even give you those big inclusive min bundle
The answer to your question is yes and no.
Orange dont mind you unlocking your phone, however 3 dont like you putting there Sim in a other GSM phone (None 3G) and they will terminate your contract / PAYG with them,
Also 3g sim cards do look the same as a none 3g one, however Im led to beleive that the voltage is differnet and can break the phone / Sim card after a while.
I have also recently been informed that 3 sim cards are now locked to the phones they come in?

Seems u'll need to use the 3 phone to use the minutes but their service is utterly rubbish remember. ALWAYS dropping calls & failing to connect

I also have to agree.
I have used 3 and yes calls drop all the time. I used one of my friends last night and the call dropped 3 times, in 1 min. In the end i used my own Orange phone and had a conversation for over 20 mins and not one hick up.
All of my friends also re changed back to Orange after a few days of owning a 3 phone. I am not saying that they arnt great value or even the netowork/phones are like. Im saying with my own expericnce. I am sure that there are thousands of happy customers. Just sorry to say that one of them or my firends is them.

I think rather than falling in the category of 'great value' it is more like 'false economy'! You get what u pay for
