> Brand New K700i Wont Turn On
Bookmark topic
Like the subject line says. I have just got my brand new k700i from overseas in the sealed box and when I took the phone out and put it together it just wont power on. And before you ask, this is my third k700i I have brought for friends so I know my way around them like the back of my hand.
I even tried my fully charged battery out of my phone and also tried the new phone battery in my phone and it works fine. So im guessing maybe its something to do with the power switch.
Anybody have any ideas or similar fault?
I have emailed the seller as well

It's very rare for a power 'switch' to be responsible for that. Do you get a white blinking screen when you switch on? Or no power at all? It's more likely to be some form of defective component in the phone's powersupply, unless you have a blinking screen in which it's more likely to be a software fault. Either way, exchange it.
Products should be in 100% working order when new.

I just hope its not due to mishandling during shipping. For the phone to be subjected to possible banging during handling may cause it to have problems, doesnt it?

I have tried two other batteries and it doesent fire up, not even a hint of any sort of powering on, just a black screen. The box was in great condition when it turned up and had the sony ericsson QC seal on it.
Im in the process of sorting out with the ebay seller now

Well, you should be asking for a replacement then. Hope youve already contacted the E-BAy seller.

I had the same problem with my K700i that it was completely dead.
I sent it to service and the only thing they had to do in my case was to give the battery some kind of "electric shock" to make it working again.
It wasn't enough to charge it with my regular charger for 3 hours, the battery needed some kind of strong electric shock. That was what they told me.
