> Help Disassembling K700i please!
Bookmark topic
Hi Guys,
I am in the process of changing the housing on my K700i, and I need to change the black line that runs around the edge, I do not know how, becasue, It is broken and I have a new one, so I need to replace it, but I don't know how to get it off, I can get everything off except for the black thing around the middle.
Does anyone know of a site with a guide, as the one on Esato does not explain, I have a T6 Screwdriver, (kindly from @Rookwise), and I really need help please!
Thanks alot Guys, Charlie.

Isn't he "black line " that runs around the main body to which all the rest ( pcb, housing etc) attach ?

Yes, @EastCoastStar, That thread uses a new K700i fascia to show how to disassemble that, but what I need to do is dissassemble a K700i, (safely),
Yes it is what everything else attatches to, but I bought a new housing, and it has the middle black line, and I want to put my phone in that, or is that far too complicated for me to do on my own???
Cheers for the replies!

@Chazzer, it looks pretty complicated to me.
A friend of mine spilt beer on my K700 last week so I might have to disassemble mine. It looks like you may need a another special tool to unhook all the little grey tabs from out of the middle black chassis.
I will have a little go later, oh and BTW, where did you get your spare housing from, ebay?

I also wanted to change the middle housing part of my K700i yesterday but after seeing that the antenna and volume/camera/internet buttons were "stuck" with some sort of sticker, I decided to back off and just change just the front and back. Would like to know how to do it safely though as mine has a nasty nick on one corner.

Does a guide actually exist anywhere for disaasembly of a K700?
The link given above in this thread is simply full of broken links and no instruction whatsoever.
I would really like some sort of guidance of what to do before taking a Torq to my K700.
Can anyone give me some pointers?
Thanks in advance - Ben Frain
