We all know players like Smartmovie and Mobiclip for UIQ/Series xx/MS 200x devices, and they work great. I have used Smartmovie player on my P900 and it was fantastic. I now have a V800 and would like to have a codec for this phone too, cause I don't want to have to go through the whole converting process all the time.

Does anyone know if a codec exists for the V800? Which OS is on the V800 anyway, I can't seem to find it anywhere. Must not be a good sign, plus all setup files for Smartmovie and Mobiclip are not supported by the V800.

The V800 is not a smartphone and thus does not have the Symbian OS.
It has the basic phone OS, unfortunately i have no idea what its called.
Anyone else have an idea? *looks @ gbrooks*

Hmmm, apparently no one is interested in a .avi codec... although I'd doubt that.

Its not a matter of lack of interest but

like said - v800 is not a smartphone - you do not have access to the OS and there are no way to install any kind of codecs or players. It only support java apps which in turn are not allowed acces to the OS or any other files on the phone. Simple as that.

V800 support playback of 3gp and mp4 movies.
Convert to those if you wish to watch videoclips

Really? Ok I didn't know a codec simply could not be installed. I thought maybe a Java applet could be a movie player with the codec becoming active at that point, whilst you then should load the file into the Java software player. Sounds pretty good to me, but then again I'm no software programmer.

the only way that would be possible would be to implement both the codec, the player and the mediafile to play inside the same java applet. And the java heapsize on the phone is nowhere near big enough to do so. So basically its a no go - sorry

Anyone know how to play full screen movies on the V800 screen?

Do I need to upgrade firmware?

Thanks
