Planning to do another firmware update.
You see, I dont learn from my mistakes and this time I'm SURE it will work ok!
Done 2 backups to assist.
Anyway, during backing up, the phone goes into backup mode and after a second or two displays a message "Cannot be found" with a continue button there..
Anyone esle seen this? The backup "appears" to have done ok (yet to prove) but what couldnt it find!?

Did you have to press "continue"?
Might just be an anomaly, but it does say that you shouldn't interract with the device whilst it's backing up - although it doesn't say anything about weird messages popping up
Bring on Intellisync for

!!

Knew it was a waste of time. Phone F*cked yet again.
Guys, as nice as you all are, I think I'm gonna dump SE, their after sales service, their web services and their products are all cause for concern.
Well hacked off.
Just had yet another call centre b*tch put me on hold and then cut me off again.

You have not had a lot of luck with

have you?!
It's unfortunate but I see a connection between the strength and quality of this site, and the total lack of support from

themselves.
Can't blame you, to be honest...
I seem to remember that your handset is an dirty Orange one. If I'm wrong then please ignore what follows, but have you considered flashing it with some unbranded FW, and forgetting about the seriously flawed SEUS? That's basically what I did, and I've not had a single problem to speak of since - much more stable...
...just a last-gasp suggestion

I'm stumped to be honest. Worse, I think Facestore or whatever its called is responsible. I backed up WITH facestore included and every restore after that, the messages section screws up. My only option now is to yet again start from scratch, reinstall everything, re-purchase everything and build from new.
Facestore intgrates with your messages section so the backups I have will just restore all the same problems yet-a-bloody-gain.
My phone is actually Voda, no external branding but firmware is Voda.

Could well be a piece of rogue software - I had a similar problem with my old P800 and AppForge - totally screwed all my backups.
If I were you, I would start from scratch one more time, get the phone flashed with unbranded FW before you start, and not touch that Facestore program, or anything else you think might be causing the problem, and give it another go.
But then, I haven't had to do that numerous times already....
