Ok. You have gprs activated in your phone? If yes, go to wap.mymail.ro and sign up for free pop3 mail. Also from, your pc, visit www .bluebottle.com for free email. You would then need to enter their settings in your phone. This message was posted from a T230

Yes you can send attachments with it. I'll give you the settings. But of late, mymail.ro is giving some problems while sending mail. Dunno why. Tried bluebottle? Its better imo. This message was posted from a T230

Do you have an email account for your pc?, if so just type in your username, password, pop3 and smtp settings under "email settings" in your phone

You'd have to fill up the blank space for incoming and outgoing servers. For mymail the incoming and outgoing servers are the same: mail.mymail.ro the mailBOX is your ID without the @ part for example, if your full email is www@mymail.ro your mailbox is www. And i also think you need to have a full internet account. I don't think you would be able to use this service on a wap only connection. This message was posted from a T230

I am with blueyonder so settings would be

incoming server : pop3.blueyonder.co.uk
maibox : the username you use to connect to the web(pc)
password : the password you use to connect to the web(pc)
outgoing server : smtp.blueyonder.co.uk
email address : your email address, eg.. me@blueyonder.co.uk

every operator uses different settings

your all confusing me now, lets just say i connect to the web on my pc using aol, so do i enter incoming server : pop3.aol.com etc or do i have to signup with one of these wap email providers like hotpop
in my email settings there is no username field only signature & from name, isnt there a way to just send a email to a internet based email account

The settings mentioned go in your email client, and they are the equivalent of what you would have to put into a client like Outlook if you wanted to use it to retrieve your email on your PC, instead of using the provider's web-based client.

You should have options in email>Inbox>accounts>New Account, where you can enter the IP addresses of the mail servers your email provider uses. If you don't know these, check with the provider's website, they should be listed somewhere. The most typical are something like pop.[domain name] or pop.mail.[domain name], for your incoming server, and the same but with smtp in place of pop for outgoing.
