> Hacked S700i Firmware

hi estato users, well this is my first post so here it goes:
i have a S700i with R3F008 firmware and sure i could upgrade it to R3K004 but there wouldn't be much difference. Isn't there anyone, possibly a hacker or something that can make a hacked firmware without all these stupid restrictions:
Small screen size when filming
only film up to 10 mb
only use MSD and not MSD Pro
play wmw, ogg and so on and not just lousy mp3
and so on
or is there mabye a hacked firmware out there??
I mean, people hack dvd players and dvd burners all the time, there must be someone who hacks mobile phones

S700 doesnt play just "lousy" mp3, it plays aac which is as good or even better than ogg

You guys make me laugh. Sure what you say is possible. But best to leave it to SEMC developers. DUO pro may come though
By the way hacked is such a bad word, i prefer edited or modified.

well i doubt anyone will try to hack s700's f/w or any other phone's f/w simply because the f/w is already compiled and cannot be read directly as high or low level instructions. also the cpu of the phone is a proprietary one and the low level instructions that uses are not the same as any well known cpu (risc or arm). so i guess any hope for this thing is very limited to non-existent. also ms duo pro support is definately out of the picture as this is a hardware issue and has to do with the algorithm the ms device uses to send address requests to the phone. simply put, normal ms (duo or not) devices don't support enough addresses to store data on (i think they can only handle 2^27 different addresses for byte storage which sums up to 128MB). so absolutely no hope here. as for the video size, this is restricted due to the fact that the cpu is unable to display properly full sized video as it is too slow. if anything can be done here is to wait for either se to release a new f/w with a better algorithm for decoding video or a java app, but i doubt for the second because java is too slow for these things (i'm a java programmer my self). as for ogg and wmv support i really don't know

No, duo pro is not out of the picture!
And simple to decompile firmware basic program such as IDA. About audio encoding i dont know as i have no interest there. FS 0 and ITP have already been ripped and decompiled.
However problem will come when trying to flash firmware back to ARM

@angrytino, we like to keep our lil website on the legal side. The pro duo can be achieved in future fw's, and is not a hardware incompatablity, we know that from p905! Yup. Sandboxed java is a headache and a real good mediaplayer should be made for s700.
