I'm previously a Nokia User for few years. And just switch over to SE for 2 weeks.

Everythings was fine with the adaptation to my new gadget! I get used to it for a day. No prob at all... One cool thing was the groups features is quite unique where I can sent a msg to a group of people...

Problem only started when I tried to assign my contacts to a group so that I don't have to set manually different ring tones for my contact, only to find out that SE don't have this function. Could there be a possible firmware update in order to include a function like caller's group? It would also be great if there's a software for pc that let you set all the caller's group and then you sync back to your phone so that you don't have to set on the phone.

Hope to receive some feedback from the SE'er!

Thanks.

786KBR, what do you mean you can do it? It is your phone have the caller's group function or you can try to include that into the firmware?

Btw, my firmware version is R2AE033.

Thanks

nah... you might have to do it manually... ther is no other option... and i dont think it will come in a future upgrade either.. personally... i dont think it is that difficult to assign ringtones to 15 users.. its just damn easy...

but personally, I have 245 contacts on my phonebook. That's really matter me. If i need to assign one by one, it would took me sometimes to finish it. By the time I finished it, i think i can join the "fastest and longest ringtone assigning contest" Therefore, the caller group function really matters.

no hard feeling, but 245 is only part of the contacts i kept in the phone for easy access. I still have hundreds sitting on my business card organiser and in my outlook.

Well, you can only add a max of 15 users in a group and only 5 groups. Obviously you havent reached the limit. :-) This message was posted from a K500

i think maybe i miscommunicate my message.

I was looking for something like caller group where you assign a large group of people into the group. then you only have to change the group ringtone and anyone from that group called will have an assigned ringtone.

I'm not referring to the the "Groups" in SE where you only gets to use it to send msg to the a group of people. The "Groups" in SE cannot be assigned ringtone.

Thanks...
