what can I do w/o sending it to sony. Problems started after taking picture and using as wall paper...then it messed up. The jog dial works though. I have tried power on, power off, taking battery and memory stick duo out. The flip works. What can I do using the jog dial and w/o a screw driver.

welcome mate.i assume your screen/text is visible though?if so,get to the service menu using the jog * routine and do an internal disk format, immediately followed by a master reset, then return.

Before you start doing that; You didn't happen to lock the screen with the screen lock? Open the flip, tap the battery icon. If the screen lock has been activated you'll get a message asking you to unlock the screen.
If need be then go to the service menu: Close the flip, or activate virtual keyboard, then: [jog dial up] [star] [jog dial down] [jog dial down] [star] [jog dial down] [star]
Keep in mind thoug; by reformatting the disk you'll loose everything you've stored in the phone. Contacts, ringtones, games and pictures.

reformatted the disk, but the touch screen still wasn't working so I could not follow instructions on the screen. I took out the battery and restarted. I think it is back to factory settings but touch screen isn't working.
