hi there

i'm a new user on K700. i read somewhere this model capable to record sound and use it as ring tone. But i can't do it on mines.

1. i've try to move it to folder song but when i wanna choose my ringtone on my profile the recorded sound is not there.

2. i've also tried to 'use' the recorded sound as a ringtone. But the menu 'set as ringtone' seems grey in color..

anybody can help here?

No problem in mine. I can set any recorded sound as ringtone. After recording, I just select the sound, select More>Use>Set as ringtone.

This won't work however, as an individual contact's custom ringtone. It only works as a default ringtone.

unfortunately i also do the same thing but it won't work
on the use menu all the 3 sub menu were in grey color. means that file cannot be used.


do u think its the firmware have to be upgrade?

I'm not sure if that would help much, because I'm using the old R2A firmware and it's working fine. Worth a try though.

I thought I was the only one left here with that firmware It's the oldest. The latest one is R2AE.

hehehe old or new sw doesnt count here as long all the functions are working. i think mine was the latest coz it stated there R2AE033 but why i still can't set my recorded sound as a ringtone..

hmm i checked the recorded sound file is on amr format. mayb thats why i can't set it as ringtone.. but hey how come u can?? ahak ahak

i think its time to visit service center .

Try to reset it...do not use "Reset all"...your data and settings will be gone...use "Reset setting" but your settings (some of them) will be gone...
After that the 3 menu will be available again...

how sure are u with this 'reset setting' stingjoel. i've browse the reset setting and yupp they dun delete my contact, sound, picture n games. Wht about my wap n gprs setting?

i think if the reset things goin to ruin my phone setting than i wont bother bout the sound recorded anymore dun have the guts to mess up with this.

Im using R2AE too & am able to use amr tones as ring tones.so is blacks on the same firmware as you. The options appear gray for me too. But im still able to set it as ring tone. Try the reset. This message was posted from a K700i
