hey guys!
i have a k700i and a belkin bluetooth adapter. problem is i can establish a link with the pc via a serial port using com port 3 but when i try to up date the firmware using se website it cannot seem to find my phone even though i made sure that it looks for the phone in com port 3.
do i need a sync station to do this coz all i thought sync station was just used to link pc- phone. im confused can any one shed some light on this problem i got

Yup!
You definitely need a Sync Station DSS-20/25. You wouldn't be able to update your firmware wirelessly.

The same thing happened to me, I had to buy the DSS-25 to be able to upgrade my firmware!

You definitely need a cable connection between the PC and your phone if you want to upgrade the firmware. You can use either DSS-20 or DSS-25.
Bluetooth or IR both rely on the firmware to work and it requires the firmware to be disabled during the upgrade so it's impossible to do a firmware upgrade without disabling the bluetooth or IR. FYI
