I've seen a fair few people in here trying to get their email working from the settings that come through the txt from 02 and SE with little success (me included). I emailed 02 and they actually replied! Suddenly my email went from forever searching for server to collect emails!
I'm on contract I don't know if these work for PAYG.
To update the email settings on your handset kindly follow the instructions provided
below:
Go to the main menu highlight Connectivity push select, scroll to Data Comm and
push select highlight Data Accounts and push select then highlight New Account
and push Add, then highlight GPRS Data and push select, Enter the Name Email and
push continue
Then highlight APN and push Edit then enter mobile.o2.co.uk and push OK
Then Highlight Username and push Edit then enter the word faster and push OK
Then highlight Password and push Edit then enter the word password and push OK
Then select Save
Then highlight Email and push Edit
Scroll down and highlight DNS address push select and enter 193.113.200.200 and
push Save
(Ignore all the other settings in this menu).
Push the Back Key to get to the main menu.
Then select Messaging, select Email , select Settings, highlight New account
and push Add you will then be asked for the Account name enter POP3 E-mail and
push OK
Then fill in the below settings
Connect using: Email
Protocol: POP3
Incoming Mail Server: You should provide this (there are some well known ones on the
knowledge base)
Incoming Port: 110
Mailbox: Customers POP3 Username (the @ sign is on the Zero key)
Password: Customers POP3 Password
Outgoing Server: smtp.o2.co.uk
Outgoing Port: 25
Email Address: Your email address (the @ sign is on key 1)
Downloads: Yours Choice
From Name: Yours Choice
Signature: Yours Choice
Copy Outgoing: Off
Check Interval: Auto Connect
Go to Messaging then Email you should then be able to send and receive mail.
