I have recently upgraded from SE T 610 to SE P910i.
I would like to know from knowledgeable members,if following functions of T610 are available on SE 910i
Pressing volume up and down button in standby mode would light up default clock secreensaver,so that one could see time in dark.Is it possible to light up clock displayed on SE 910i.Pl tell how it is possible.
There was provision of some messages being stored as templates. How is it done on P910i.
It was possible to add number to a old contacts. How is this done on P910i.
Any tricks for more effective use of P910i
Shall be grateful for an early response.

Most of those 'basic' features seems to be missed out of the P-series. Like if you want to add a number to a contact, you would have to copy and paste the number into the contact. This can only be done with the flip open. As with turning the backlight on when the clock is shown, if you press any button the clock will disapper so that is not possible either.

I think that it is a such a shame that these features are either none existant or long winded to do!

after receiving a call from any number not in my phonebook my phone always prompts if I want to save the number. At this point I can add it to a new or old contact.

You can't add numbers in your call list to old contacts, but this is easily solved by opening the flip.

The designers have given you the opportunity to save a number to a contact while the flip is closed, if you miss it it is your fault. Also this phone is designed to provide its maximum functionality with the flip open. A good portion of users don't even bother with the flip. If some functionality is missing from FC and FO modes, then you have major cause for complaint. Remember that FC mode is mostly just a convenience feature.

One feature I really miss from the T610 is voice-activated sound recording -- that was great for making notes when zooming along in the car. Even put a little symbol on the screen to remind you you'd recorded something you had to remember!

Also miss that little app that let you store PIN numbers etc in a password protected area.

Like the OP said, certain things are just so cumbersome to do on the P910 (without buying additional software) compared with the T610. You could argue it's poor interface design.
