> Problems with Orange P910i
Bookmark topic
I've had my Orange branded P910i since November. In general it's been fine but recently its been playing up.
Sometimes you can open the flip and the screen is just white. Try pressing some of the buttons but nothing happens.
Also when flip closed you can sometimes not select any of the menu shortcuts on screen. Phone just kinda freezes.
Also been gettin weird error messages on screen like "Reason 11....." and "Reason 7....".
People have also reported trying to call me but phone hangs up after a fewseconds.
Is anyone else experiencing these problems? One of my mates got one a few weeks ago and he is having similar issues with his.
Would it beworth upgrading the firmware? Will contact Orange about the matter but just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions first.
Thanks

So judging from the lack of replies I gather nobody else is experiencing these problems?

Purchased mine in October having the same problems, spoke to orange, they said there is a problem with the software, they don't cover software in orange warranty, so they will not replace the hand set nor will they refund my £199.00. It turns out orange have been selling these phones knowing full well it has problems. It is also evident orange have withdrawn the model from sale. My local trading standards office are looking into the problem. I am waiting for the new NOKIA E61 with another airtime supplier. I suggest you dump orange at your earliest opportunity

I've had my orange p910i for a year, It did start playing up a couple of times as you have described but each time it was sorted with a master reset and restore.
Do you have any 3rd party software installed? This is the software Orange means when they say it is not covered in a warranty. If you have no 3rd party software then it is the operating system at fault, (probably the sh1tty Orange Homescreen) and you are still under warranty.
Legally, as long as you have not installed any 3rd party software that could interfere with the system, the phone has developed a fault covered under any statutory warranty and you are entitled to a replacement/repair.
Don't take any cr4p from Orange, if you don't get what you want, keep your cool and ask to speak to the person's line manager, insist on it, but stay cool with them. works every time for me.
I'd be interested to know how you get on.
Matt

i have an oragne p910i... It's debranded now, see the thread on here is you want to do it.
get the software for the phone installed on your computer and back up the phone. Then do a google search for the sonyerricson uk homepage. find your phone and install the sony erricson update software... (seus). charge the phone up and update to the latest operating system... then restore your phone... All the problems should be fixed.

That's disgraceful. I bet the muppet you spoke to didn't even ask what (3rd party) software you had on the phone, so how they could deduce that was the issue beggars believe.
If all fails, I've found a snottogram to
executive.office@orange.co.uk works wonders

Doesn't sort the long-term problems Orange have with their tech support / customer service, but at least it adds a sense of urgency to the situation.

In principle you should have the latest Orange firmware on there already, if you only bought it in November.
But why go through the hassle anyway? Orange should be sorting it out, not you!

Hi only just got an P910i after my horrible experience with Orange am no longer on their Network having been a customer from day1 nor ever will be again. Don't accept their pathetic excuses you need to speak to Orange executive and then their legal department (the only ones with any sense that don't believe Orange are always right despite the facts) explain you are not being allowed to download the latest firmware and as this is part of the functionality of the phone you have been missold explain you will give them 14 days to resolve your problems after which time you will issue a County Court Summons for a refund and cancellation of your contract early without penalty and take your story to the press. After several weeks of being told i couldn't use the update service and Orange where right and i was wrong once the legal department saw i was intending to issue proceedings to which they had no defense i returned the P900 and got a cheque for purchase price plus contract cancelled. Orange customer service now sucks not the company it once was.
