> point of 41mb when cant use some?

As ive been reading, when the memory is getting full, the k700 starts messing up. Whats the point in having this memory when u can only use some of it? What is the memory limit before it bugs up!

I dont think this information is entirely precise, my phone that i had (it got stolen *sobs*) did not mess up, i had 38mb filled...
in any case, technology is far from perfect!

I thought you meant bugs, as in messages not opening, games becoming dotty, buttons not working etc.

in all digital devices, there are some memory available only to the device not user, and afaik K700i uses the same technique to get rid of problems when the memory is full. hence, there is no need to be worried about it.

You may have read that a few times, so have I, but its wrong and for most part a matter of users making wrong conclusions from symptoms of something else. The K700 does not mess up just because you fill the usermemory. The user memory is only storage memory and has nothing to do with the functionality of the phone. The memory used by the platform to operate is in a different locked memoryspace. You may compare it to having a computer with 2 harddrives, no matter how much you fill the slave drive with raw data, it will not directly effect the system which operates from the master drive.
My K700 is more or less constantly filled with mp3, games, videos, pictures etc. and this does not in any way effect the performance of calling, sms, menuspeed or whatever.
What you may experience, is if you for instance have 200 pictures in the picturefolder, refreshing the thumbnails of the picturefolder when opening it, naturally takes longer than if you only had 10 pictures stored in the folder. Also if you do fill it to every single last byte, you could theoretically experience that it cannot create the thumbnails because of lack of space to store them. Or you could experience that a game cannot save a highscore etc.
I guess you could then say that it effect the phone in a way, but I wouldent call it that the K700 messes up. Normal functions of the phone would still work as normal. Up to 40mb I'd say you would be pretty safe.

I believe this problem can be fixed with the latest firmware, which includes a fix for slow menu's that exists in earlier firmware (I'm on R2A041).
I just haven't got around to getting the firmware upgraded yet.
Ultimately, the phone's processor and graphics memory may just be too slow to support hundreds of images per folder. I wouldn't see this as a major disadvantage of a phone, hell even a new computer doesn't necessarily play the latest games perfectly.
Go back to a phone with 2MB (aka T610, nice as it is) and tell us there is no point in a phone with 41MB that you can't use all of! The T610 didn't have folder browsing problems, even when it was completely full, which would occur at the slightest data transfer!

1. Your doing do much reading into this. Nothing beats actual experience than reading something that isn't even true.
2. The memory will only start to cause problems when the phone is actually right on the edge of being filled. I know this for a fact from my old SE phone and it's not until the memory is on the virge of being full it starts to become a problem. This goes for anything with a memory.
3. Not all technology is so advanced that it's trouble free. Technology in phones is at a point where it is all complex circuitry relying on ICs and operates in the same manner as a PC. How many PCs do you know that are completely trouble free? Parts are bound to fail in some products.
