Ive used the sony firmware update service before without a problem. Ive had my orange branded phone flashed in the meantime and wondered if this could be connected? Has anyone else had a problem updating a flashed orange phone recently?

Oh right. Id better update my avatar. Haven't had my p910i long. Im just trying to update my fw to R4 but whilst my phone is being "initialised" l.n the cradle l get the above error message.

Can I ask again if anyone out there who has a flashed P910i has managed to use the Sony Ericsson Update Service without a hitch?
Ive emailed SE customer support and followed their advice ie making sure the phone is fully charged etc but without success.

Sounds more like a firewall/router or something is blocking seus from communicating with your phone. If you have a firewall then make sure you allow all it blocks when it comes to SE programs.

l have managed to update my p900/910 without any problems. but at first with my p900. l had a few communiction errors until l installed the latest java software on my pc. try this go to
www.java.com download and install the latest java software for your pc. this fixed the problem with me
