Both will be available in a matter of weeks- something for the p9xx that has been long awaited and overdue.

What will you go for?
WHY?
and what is better?

I can't wait for TomTom on my P910i! My driving instructor had the TomTom GPS thing in his car, and it was AMAZING! very accurate, impossible to get lost! I'll definately be purchasing a bluetooth GPS module and *ahem* buying the TomTom software!

I'll be able to travel all over the place!

When's it gonna be available, and where from?

Which GPS modules can be used with the P910?

Cheers

Both kits come with a gps module - TomTom has just released a lightweight, compact one. It can be worn round the neck without looking like mr t!

Its kinda a shame since I would like to get both software but only use the tomtom GPS.

I'm sure the software will soon be available on FileShare and BitTorrent networks. I'll probably purchase a bluetooth GPS module seperately if they're going to charge a ripoff price for the software. We'll see.

Questions on bluetooth GPS modules:

Can a Pxxx be connected to a GPS module to receive location information AND simultaneously be connected to a bt headset to make/receive calls?

If so, would doing this cause problems with the navigation software (ie. cause it to exit when a call starts), or would it automatically revert back to navigation after the call?

Furthermore, would directions be possible WHILE the call is actually taking place? Wouldn't want to miss a turning just because you're chatting!

The p910 can pair with more than one device, but not the p900 or p800 AFAIK.

No idea on what would happen if you had a BT handsfree and GPS going at the same time...

Have I missed something here? Tomtom Mobile for UIQ has not even been announced and to be honest at the rate Tomtom seem to be moving I don't think it will ever see the light of day (afterall it was originally demoed at Cebit '04 so they've had plenty of time since then to release it).
Route 66 on the other hand should be *available* in the uk at least in the next couple of weeks - already have a preorder @ Expansys since I can't wait to have a stable GPS solution after the pain of Wayfinder.
