Yeah, I was wondering this too! Desktop Message messed up my SMS settings on the phone, so I couldn't send SMS from the phone itself. So I had to format the phone

.
Anyone have any solutions?

desktopmessage always worked fine for me, never screwed the phone.
It is a bit ugly tho' in interface and does not correctly indicate when you start a 2nd SMS (it says 3rd SMS starts when you have type the 320th char, while in reality it's the 309th char)

Desktop Message is working fine for me, but I also have a problem in term of moving old sms from the O2 xphone... I save xphone sms in files types, I can only open them only in PC. The way I want to do is cut the message and then paste each into Some programs that can create sms and saved to outlook in P910.. Anyways, I think desktop message doesn't work for me... When I write sms from PC, it allows me only send to the number I want, but not my phone. Dya have any suggestion? thankz a lot......

if you are on Cingular they have a tool on their website for download called "Connection Manager". It's mainly to connect your laptop to the internet with the cell being the modem, but it also lets you send SMS from the laptop.

I meant extended SMS, those >160 chars
you need the beta to download a 256+ char version, previous ones didn't go over that
