Sony has released seven new digital voice recorders today, most are what you'd expect from a recorder, they record. Except for the ICD-CX50 Visual Voice Recorder, it not only records voice, but it also takes digital pictures which can be viewed and framed on its mini-LCD screen. The ICD-CX50's camera is 1.2 megapixels, and is USB 2.0 high-speed file transfer compatible. Sony will ship it to retailers this June for a mammoth $400 USD price tag.For more information on the other six digital voice recorders you can check out Sony's press release.

The camera looks like it would be handy in a lecture or presentation.

Yeah, but when you think about it, you could always use your phone! I mean, if you have a cameraphone, there you go, and most SE phones have a voice recorder function. And I suppose you could rig a telescopic mic to the headset in-jack (like in my p800) and that wouldn't be too hard, and then just sit the mic on your desk, and fall asleep whenever you want, safe in knowing you have it all on tape. But I guess a cheap video camera may be a better option (for lectures etc,) 'cause you can still record voice, and you get the notes on the board too.

Ah, the things we do to get some more sleep in the mornings...

I think the electric shaver will be the ultimate phone/gadget add on!

I still prefer a wet shave though!
