it's updateserver for mobile phones... it hosts all available firmware for phones and accessories... it's available for servicepoints only, special equipment for accessing the firmware is required.... and soon we will see EMMA III instead

EMMA is btw short for Ericsson Mobile Maintenance Applications

Is EMMA III confirmed? Is there an abbreviation for EMMA? This message was posted from a K500

EMMA III exists, but it's still in a early beta version... however, they are about to start some live tests at some selected service points...

all service points are still using EMMA II for flashing... they wanna run some tests EMMA III out in the field before starting to release it, so far you can only flash/update K700i with EMMA III

How is this EMMA II diff from EMMA III. Basically all they do is supply firmware, right? This message was posted from a K500

@ganguly100

just because it's available on EMMA II doesn't have to say it's available on the online update service as well, the firmwares are first released to servicepoints before it's available on the online update service

@govigov

yes that is the purpose of the servers however, EMMA II isn't a good system (it's built on a JAVA platform) for updating, it maybe worked a few years ago, but today there are to many firmware versions available so it's very slow... haven't seen EMMA III live yet, only a few screenshots on a slideshow, but the graphic interface is completely different, looks much more easy to navigate than EMMA II, can probably give a more detailed "review" within the next week when I have tested it, if our computers can manage it has quite high system requirements/recommendations for EMMA III

@cytech, thats wonderful. So does that mean firmwares supplied will not be in the .jar format anymore? Can i also get to see a screenshot of EMMA III? This message was posted from a K500
