S710a and Z500, both for American market... unfortunately. Europians must wait till fall... new se with edge are going to be announced... If you want EDGE from se u can buy PCMCIA card GC85...That is all.

I disagree mike. For a network to upgrade to EDGE, very minimal modification is needed. For UMTS, lots of mod is needed. I think EDGE will give way to 3g and forego UMTS.

But they're going to end up doing UMTS anyway so they may as well do it in one step rather than wasting time & money with an intermediate.
