I just upgraded my P910i firmware to the current one (with latest updater), but I noticed a rather annoying thing!

I first made a complete backup, then I did the upgrade, then I did a restore. All was successful, at least that's what it looked like...

Everything is restored as it should, except all sms & mms (not an issue to me), but also the whole damn phonebook! It's empty, gone.

What could I do to restore it correctly? anyone has any ideas or had the same already?

I got this problem before(p910i), but finally i find a way can backup completely, when u do a backup, remember to take out the ms from the p9, if not took out the ms, the backup wont backup the contact.db. Enjoy.

problem is there is no contacts.cdb file in my backup... maybe P910 specific?

this is so astounding a simple P910i backup will not backup one of the most important things, your contacts! And no SMS/MMS either.

With my P800 & P900 I didn't have this issue.

I used the latest software, but seemingly that doesn't change a thing

I had made a backup in december but didn't do any firmware upgrade since I bought it, so I never had to do a restore, the december backup also has no contacts.cdb file.

I think I'll just do next time a beam of all contacts in vcf format, so I can beam it back to the phone after a restore (what I did to send all my P900 contacts to my P910).

This is so silly, SE should have spotted & fixed this already looong time, shame on them!
