> What to expect as a replacement for T68i ?
Bookmark topic
I’m eagerly awaiting a replacement for T68i with the following new functions added to the phone:
1. Polyphonic ring tones (24 minimum)
2. 4096 colour TFT screen
3. Java
Feel free to add further…….
My guess for a name for this S///E phone: T800 or T900
My guess for a release date would be just prior to Nokia 7210 hitting the stores.
What do you guys think ?

A built-in FM radio would be nice

I would love to see it, but it will not be released that early.

Good question!
I'm just about to buy my T68i, and I do not have second thoughts about, but I was thinking these days where is the border. When does the phone stop being a phone, and becomes a gimmick? I had a chance to hear polyphonic sounds on Alcatel phones, and have not been impressed at all. Java?? - why? I'm not big on playing games anyway. If I'm looking for entertainment, there are always computer games for that. And finally, the 4096 colurs screen?? We already have 256. Additional colours will improve the impression on the screen, however we're still talking about a minute phone, with little screen. I do think that bringing colours to the phone is a great idea, but let's not overreact.
What do you guys think??

I'd love 4096. I think it's quite a differance from 256. After that ? I dunno.. 32 bit color on a 101/80 pixel screen does seem like overkill...

Wishful thinking to have the follow up in the stores before the 7210 - SE usually trumpets their models 6 months in advance.

About the color screen: I think the screen technology is more important than the number of colors. The t68 has a lousy STN screen with poor contrast and color saturation, whereas for instance Samsung T100 has a nice TFT screen. Here is an experiment: display the same 256 color image (using the t68 palette) on both the t68 and the samsung. I am pretty sure the t100 image will look *much* better. A photo, anyone?

Well, I could careless about the FM-Radio, but keeping the original features but adding in Java would be more than enough
