I dont understand why i cant dial up on my cingular with my p900(p910 firmware) what i do is i use the dial up access. i have Earthlink dial up as my isp, i was able to do it before, but now everytime i dial up i get wrong user name or password. i double check the dial up but it doesnt work at all. any idea why it doesnt work?

i have att wireless which recently changed to cingular. i tried connecting to my SBC/Ameritech ISP through the P800's dial up connection feature only to have it always say that it cannot detect a carrier signal. i called att wireless's customer service and after waiting for a few mins the data support rep said that the only way att ( and cingular too i would assume) would allow you to connect to the internet would be through thier GPRS data connections. they gave some excuse saying they would have to have a bank of modems on thier end to make all of the dialup connections and such. so basically they want you to spend 40$ or so a month to get unlimited data connection.but you said it worked before? were you able to connect via dialup through cingular before it merged with att? im guessing its just a ploy so they can charge you .03$ a kilobyte for using thier GPRS.
