> Sony Ericsson still too far behind the rest!
Bookmark topic
According to a report from The Guardian (mobile phone industry analysts Gartneron) Thursday March 3, 2005, Sony Ericsson are rock bottom in the global market share for mobile phones.
The report shows:
Nokia retained its top spot with a 30.7% share of the global market, selling 207m phones.
That is down from the 34.8% recorded in 2003 because of lack of mid-priced handsets earlier in the year.
Motorola came in second with 15.4% compared with 14.5% in 2003, but the big gainer last year was third-placed Samsung on 12.6% up from 10.5% the previous year.
Siemens was fourth with 7.2%, down from 8.4%. The figures confirm recent industry talk that SonyEricsson has lost its fifth place in the market last year to Korea's LG. SonyEricsson scored 6.2% last year, beaten by LG on 6.3%.
Even, LG is infront of Sony Ericsson.
Now my point is, Sony Ericsson make decent phones but why are they so unpopular then the rest? Are they doing something wrong?

LG being ahead of SE has to be a joke but can anyone believe this? Why is SE generally so unpopular then the rest?

Ever heard of a niche market? To be successful u dont need to be selling to the masses. Kia vs Ferrari.
