Grundig, probably best known for their radios, has started up a new brand called ‘Grundig Mobile,’ with the obvious end of creating cellular phones. Six new phones have been announced, including two new models designed to work on DoCoMo’s i-Mode systems.

Isn't it now owned by a Chinese company that has kept the trademark? This message was posted from a K700i

I really liked their TV's. That was two decades ago. They are also famous for their longwave world radios.
They got already a couple of mobiles out.

Looks like a mix of Sagem and Samsung. Not really 'something completely different'.
Is there really any room left on the market for a new middle-of-the-road brand?
Or is it only a sticker-brand, meaning that in fact the mobiles ARE Samsungs or Sagems but branded with Grundig?

From their website we can see they're based in Spain (not Germany or China).
But the phones look like they got authorization from other brands to use their phones and rebrand them.
