if the flash file is in exe... then youll prolly hafta decode in order to extract the SWF file, after extracting SWF file you can now then convert it to an AVI file like the one said above.. the SWF2AVI converter.. have used it and its quite easy.

cheers yall!

P.S. and its not a virus.

Since we're on the topic of flash files, does anyone know if its possible to save a flash movie that streams straight off the net?
I.e. movies from www.newgrounds.com ... is it possible to download their movies, and then convert them to video?

two things... are you familiar with Snag-it? its a capture software.. meaning it captures anything that is in your screen/monitor.

so there are also for flash files.. i dunno the exact file name but i know theres alot out there... google will help you find a handfull.

second, you can view the page source of where the document flash is running and you can look for the sourcefile of that flash... then just download it from that address using download agents or the basic way of downloading.

cheers yall!

Of course you can:
For example:
CRAPPY FLASH VIDEO
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/302983

Start the flashvideo and look to the HTML-script code:
The flashfile's URL is:
http://uploads.ungrounded.net/302000/302983_CitizenKain.swf

Download it and convert it to avi (for example using Magic SWF2AVI)

After that use for example mpegable Broadcaster to convert it to QCIF-sized MP4 file and you you will get the suitable file for your phone.

I uploaded it on rapidshare at:

302983_CitizenKain.mp4 (2240308 Bytes)
http://rapidshare.de/files/16214491/302983_CitizenKain.mp4.html

Quality settings might be done better, but this was just a quick trial to show, how it works.

No only if its a progressive download, where the video is saved to your computer then played in your browser.

And one of Flash's exports is .exe so not necessarily a virus.

I've downloaded that swf to avi converter to test it out, but I've found that most swf to avi converters suck, because they don't capture animation that has been scripted with actionscript, or special physic animations.

However these converters work if you just have a swf file that is nothing, but simple tween animations.

You can watch the .FLV file in your web browser and then copy "get_video[1]" from your "Temporary internet files" folder to another location and convert it
