A scientist claims that humans could soon live to the age of 1,000.

Dr Aubrey de Grey, a geneticist from Cambridge University says that progress in stem cell research could help to extend our lives.

According to the Daily Mail quoting the Today Programme he said: "I would put money on the fact that someone living today could live to be 1,000."

He believes we are only ten years away from producing a laboratory mouse which will extend its middle age to twice its present lifespan and then indefinitely.

He added: "One we have learned how to delya the ageing process by 25 years, then the possibilities aer endless because that will give people enough time to keep pace with further ageing problems."

However, other scientists disagree with Dr de Grey's theories. Professor Lina Partridge, an expert on ageing form University College London, said: "If he is saying that there are interventions just around the corner that could enable us to live until we are 100 and beyond, then I do not think that is true."

Yah me too! I mean, I almost regret being born now, 'cause I won't be around to see what the worlds like in 100 years.

If I'd look the same way I look now, I'd really love to live that long.

If everybody I know would stick around for as long and we'd all be healthy, and at the same time no new people would be added so we won't overcrowd the planet..... if if if if

If we wouldn't die in time we'd exhaust this planet in no time at all... it won't last a 1000 years and without it neither will we.
