Every time i try to send an email with my my p910i, i get the error message which would be translated to something such as "Cannot send email due to an invalid return adress."

The thing is, i used to be able to send and recieve perfectly with my p900, using the same account and email provider, and i don't understand what the problem seems to be. I believe have tried every setting and combination of options.

I have searched through this forum, without finding a solution. Does anyone have the same problem or suggestions?

Which email provider are you talking about? I've had problems sending mail on mymail.ro. This message was posted from a T230

well since it is only sending mail it must be a problem with a setting related to your smtp server. It is quite possible that the required settings have changed since you last used this service on your P900, or that your provider requires a setting that the phone does not support (i.e. SSL)

Theoretically you do not have to use the same outgoing mail provider as your incoming provider, so if you have another email account that works, try using the outgoing server settings for that.

It is through Sitelutions, where i bought my own web hosting called "skarv.net".

Strangely enough, at work i can download and recieve email using my skarv.net account, though at my pc at home i also have problems sending mail using Thunderbird. The settings are the same at work, home, and p910, yet i can only send from my work pc. It might be a restriction from Sitelutions of some sort, but i swear it worked with my p900.

You might find that your outgoing server is wrong. For example I use freeserve email, and assumed it would be smtp.freeserve.co.uk but in fact it was smtp.orange.co.uk BECAUSE i was using Orange sim card via Orange gprs. The same idea MAY apply to you.

Yes, no luck. Come to think of it, i can send fine using Lazy Cat's "Profimail" on my p910i, using "skarv.net" as both outgoing as well as ingoing server. The default email function won't take it, though.

@junk
I was indeed able to use the default mail program to send and receive files from Yahoo. However, I was unable to configure it for Gmail, so I switched to Profimail!

I'm having the same problem but with incoming mail. Pop.orange.net isn't working.

Just for reference, I am on Vodafone and use NTL for e-mail. I use...

Incoming (pop): pop.ntlworld.com

Outgoing (smtp): 212.183.156.230
smtp settings are for vodafone
