...the outgoing server ip address for vizzavi pop3 e-mail. through searching this site i've found the rest of the info and can recieve e-mails now, but, like pretty much everybody - i cant send them. if anybody could post this ip i'd be chuffed ta bits...

to get the IP address open a dos window and type 'ping servername.com' - hit return.

Actually i dont know the name of the server, i think i read somewhere that its stmp.vizzavi.net, but im not sure. Someone must know what it is! This post was posted from a T68i

go to www.google.com type in 'vizzavi smtp server' and it will be the first page that comes back.

Yeh thanks. Thats done it. I dont know why its so hard to set all this up. I bet a lot of people jus cant get their heads round it and dont bother. Anyway, cheers. This post was posted from a T68i

I have found in NZ that the SMTP server cannot be pinged as it appears to be behind a firewall (perhaps). I guess they do not want the general internet to have any access to the server. Contact the help desk who should be able to tell you the IP address.

The SMTP server for Vizzavi is mail.vizzavi.net or you can also mail.vizzavi.co.uk (these should work until they re-vamp their email next February/March onwards).

You can also use the CONFIGURATORS on the Sony-Ericsson website for Email. This will do it for you automatically.

you can find your IP no probs using DOS

just type the command

PING smtp.vizzavi.com

and it will come back with the IP address

simple
