hey guys!

I posted a message about a week ago stating my problems with my p800, constent crashing when using the phone and camera, and the audio cracking and screeching.

I took the phone to my local SE service centre and the "fixed" it....... i got the phone back on monday. I was writing a text today and the phone crashed. I got straight on the phone to SE and they told me thats its the software, when i put my phone in for repair i asked for a flash on my phone. Im guessing they never did it, so i called back up the service centre and they told me that i didnt ask for a software update......I SHOULDNT HAVE TO! THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT TO FIX THE PROBLEM IN THE FIRST PLACE!

So then she said it would take four days to upgrade the software, i replied that it should take 10 minutes and im not waiting four days for something that should have been done in the first place. She said she would try and get it done while i was waiting (this was on the telephone by the way) Now i havent been yet, only called today and havent had time. Ive just returned home from work, while walking to the train station my phone wrang and that aful audio screeching was heard. I though to myself..... oh gawd please no! Then i tried to listen to my audio files and the screeching and whistling was heard again.

So now, not only did they not update the firmware, they didnt fix the problem in the first place!

Do you guys think i should ask for a replacement phone from SE? Its still under manufacturing gauruntee!

Assuming its a brand new one I would ask for a replacement, if they start baulking at the remind them about the product having to be 'fit and for the proper purpose' i.e. do what it's meant to do.
Drop trading standards into the conversation a couple of times if they haven't taken the replacement hint.

Hey guys!

I spoke to SE today, i explained the situation to them, about the phone going in for repair and coming back out with the same problems. They told me to take the phone back to service centre to get it repaired again, to which i said i cant afford to be without my phone for another four days and if they cant fix it the first time i dont see how they can do it a second time. I said either they send me out a temp phone while i send the phone to them, or they send me out a replacement phone. They said they cant do that.

The agent i was talking to said hold and he'll see what he can do, he returned and gave me the address for the main repair shop, and said it would take 7-10 days, which i said was longer than 4 days and i cant afford to be without my phone. He said if wanted a replacement phone i would have to go to my original dealer to get one, but they dont make the p800's anymore so thats out the question. He said the only thing to do was send it in for repair, i asked to speak to a team leader/supervisor. I got through and he said he would contact the service centre to see what they done to the phone and why its not repaired properly and we will go from there.

So no news on getting a replacement, any ideas guys?

When I took my P800 in for repair about a year ago the repair centre updated the software before doing anything else.
