> Turning off camera sound (Z1010)?
Bookmark topic
Is there ANY way I can turn off the sound the camera makes when a picture is taken or when I start/stop recording a video?
I have a Sony Ericsson Z1010 with R1K010 firmware...

Does turning on silent mode help?

I tried putting it on the "Silent" profile; it didn't mute the camera sound, but it seemed to make it a little quieter...

As far as I know, the only way to do it is with cable + software. I had it done on my V802, as the camera sound was irritatingly loud

I'm not sure about the firmware on my Z1010, but putting it on Silent doesn't change the noise. However, setting the phone volume to 0 in the Settings panel mutes the sound (levels 1-8 make the 'whi-pah' sound the same). Arsed if I can work out why.
So I'd change the profile to 'Meeting' for that.

I thought by law all cameras had to make this sound. So I would assume it would be difficult to take it off.
