Hello people, I thought about getting this app as it does appear to me very good.
However it mentions that you can enter the app reg code to unlock it incase you have forgotton the password.
So my question is, is there any way to get the phones IMEI number other than doing *#06# (ie is it written inside the phone or something) because if some nice person steals my lovely phone and manages to get my IMEI number and a umm key cough gen then they would probably be able to bypass the password.
I know this app probably wouldn't get my phone back, but I would feel much better knowing they had a useless phone.

if they start the phone up without a sim they should be able to access the >*
Also, the box your phone came with has the IMEI printed on it. Not that they would have the box...

Thats a bit harsh then. I think I might buy it though anyway. Im thinking what are the chances of someone wanting to steal a Pseries actually knowing that much about them to actually be able to unlock it.
Also if they do nick it and realise its locked, maybe they will just put it back or hand it in. Or maybe just smash it up for the sheer hell of it.

well lets hope whoever is out there stealing Pxxx phones doesn't check esato, or I might have tipped some of them off about how to make the phone work.

The application Reg Code is not the same thing as the phones IMEI which is also printed on the back of the phone itself!!
The app reg code is the code given to you by the manufacturer/retailer when you buy the product.

We know, but what we are saying is, is that you xan use the reg code instead of the password to access the phone (a failsafe in case you lost the password).
So if the thief obtained your IMEI nuber and a keygen then he/she would be able to get the reg code and get you phone working.

There are other things they could do to get the phone working (which I won't mention here, just in case I end up helping any of them!). But the point of this software is, I think:
a) To deter the casual (and dumb) thief from being able to sell the phone on
b) To provide a mechanism to catch said casual thief if they try inserting their own sim card (by sending their phone number to another phone)
c) To help if you've lost your phone, by locking it remotely, emitting a tone and displaying a message (eg. to call your landline number) so that an honest person can return it, or you can locate it if it's down the back of the sofa!
It's practically impossible to have an inpenetrable program, but I think this does a pretty good job.

Like I said, I think I will buy it. Its a cool app especially for the price. And as you said, it will do the job against any casual thief. Nice one, cheers.

I bought the application and well it is a relieving application in case you lose your phone, due to the possibility of the phone being useless.
I lost a phone a few years back and blacklisted it with my network, I think somebody is using it and I think it is useless.
With this application, I know someone will have to be a genius to make it work and will go a long way to make it work.
I like the application, it ius useful.
