hi folks,
I have done a lot of searching on upgrading the firmware on my P800. It definately has old firmware r2a01. Surely you don't have to take this phone to a service centre to upgrade it / re-flash it when you can flash almost every other phone ever made! I have a terminator dongle and it says this phone is supported, so can't I flash it to the latest firmware with the terminator? if so what files do I need and where do I get them, and failing that will a se service centre really upgrade my 2nd user p800 for free?

i think this has been mentioned and answerd before... you carnt get the files off the net so you have to tke it to the se center, im sure that somone will correct me if im wrong tho!

will they still upgrade it coz it's getting a bit old now. Anyone know the locations of the service centres in the uk? or where I can find the info the se website doesn't seem to say

yes they do as far as i now of the latest one i know of was r2f as for the location im not sure you'll have to check there site i think

I checked the site and could not find a link, I also searched google and i am amazed a cannot find a link. I still am amazed I cannot flash this phone with terminator I want to get rid of the vodafone branding also, can this be done another way perhaps?

so basically we cannot upgrade the firmware coz no bright spark has made the flashing software..... unbelievable that virtually every other handset can be flashed aparty from these, and this 128mb limit? must be a lock put on by sonyericsson to force you to upgrade, problem is I think the p900/p910 are simply too ugly to be seen with! anyone know of a p series forum with a few experts on hand?

the 128limit isnt lock its a fact! if it ciukd be removed dont you think someone would of mentione it on here? ive been on a few sites and on them the same answer 128! as for flashing i thing its down to the equiptment and software, the p800 is older with a different platform with the last firmware update about a year old the p900/p910 gets them alot more s its newer! its like trying to make a megadrive play ps2 games!
