A similar case like K700i SEUS discussed in our forum for long.

I' v tried SEUS for over 1 month with my S700i since I bought it from O2 shop. It always displayed "Communication Error" without running the SEUS application(Java software).

Today I reinstalled my WinXP and tried again. The SEUS software(Java) seems working and click "next" it started initializing device. Then it turned off my handset and a message saying about " No Service available for this Device " appeared. Click "ok" then another message appeared on the web page:

Thank you for using the Sony Ericsson Update Service!

Well, everything seems clear now. O2 did the same thing to our S700i like what they did on K700i before, right? Did anyone have any solution to this problem currently? or any info from O2?

The firmware version with my S700i is R3F008

Hi Lianxu. My phone was from Phones4U on a monthly contract. It was manufactured 05W02 and bought on the 24 January. There was no problems updating the FW.

Hi vanquish, I'v contacted SE and got a email as following:

************************************************
Dear Liam,

Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Call Centre.

With regards to your enquiry, the service would need to be supported by your
network. If this is not the case you will need to refer to a Sony Ericsson
approved service point to get the software updated. A Sony Ericsson approved
service point is:

ACR Logistics
Unit 2a
Appletree Road
Chipping Warden
OX17 1LL

01295662101

They provide a postal service. The handset should be adequately packaged and
sent special delivery. Please remove SIM card. The following documentation
should be sent with the handset: your name and contact details, contact number
and e-mail address if available. Please take note of the handset model and the
IMEI number prior to sending the unit to ACR. Please send a copy of proof of
purchase. The turnaround time is 10 working days from receipt of the handset at
ACR.

Doesn't seem too bad if you have a spare handset. Though being parted from my loved one for 10 days would be almost unbearable.
