Hi!
Eventhough I have seen simular topics in this forum I realy would like to, once and for all, get a/some working solution(s) to my problem.

I have just bought a HPM-10 and tried to install the drivers/software for the MultiMedia Port (the adaptor that transfers files from the computer to the mediacard). The computer I'm trying to install the software to are running under WinXP - Home...
I suppose this is the problem while the drivers/software that was included on the HPM-10 CD-ROM supports Windows 9x, NT4 and 2000 but NOT WinXP.

When I visited the sonyericsson homepage the same Installationfiles where available (no support for WinXP)...

I have called SonyEricsson (Sweden) and they told me that there where no driver/software available supporting WinXP and they are not planing to release any either (This i find highly remarkable!!!!!!!!).

This is what happends:
When I run the SETUP.EXE the installation starts, I choose language and then choose the destination I would like the software to be installed... Then (after a while) the installation are beeing interupted by a popup message, saying something like: Installation canceled due to problem with the SETUP.INI file or The software are allready installed on the computer plese remove it, restart the computer and run the installation again...

So my question is (once and for all)...

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Sincerly,

Simon Thorsander

When I try to install the downloaded -file the message "Error in the SETUP.INI-file" pops up!

The other message:
"The software are allready installed on the computer please remove it, restart the computer and run the installation again..."
accures when I use the CD-ROM installation

ok, that's strange, i haven't had simular problem so i don't know actually.
Maybe the only solution is to format your harddrive and install winxp again...

Don't think so...

Someone else having any idea?
I read some of the other threads concerning this kind of matter...
But the solutions never feelt 100% right (some people got BlueScreen (this is something I don't want!)).

Please let me know if anyone has solved this problem!

I was hopeing that this tread should be the one, giving the answers to this kind of problem. Instead I read alot of mumbo-jumbo ("I connected my adaptor to my laptop (using win98)" - thanx alot - that helped me a great deal). "Buy the USB connection" - didn't help me at all - I just bought this product (HPM-10) and are not interested in buying a new adaptor.

Is there anyone that managed to install drivers/software for winXP, if there is... ...how did you do?

(Sorry if i sounded to harsh)
