Have you set up the WAP and GPRS settings on the phone for Orange?
Maybe have a look on the configuration pages on SE website or speak to Orange in Mumbai.
I do know that a payg Orange card in Mumbai doesn't have GPRS enabled by default as I am over here at the moment.

dear Indiandawg, orange Mumbai offers 2 services- one is Basic GPRS which is Rs99 permonth.Inthis you can surf only WAP enables sites( so you canNOT log into yahoo, hotmail, rediff, your netbanking sites) with the inbuilt P910 browser. If you go in for the advanced GPRS, Rs499 pm, you can surf anysite but only with the Opera browser loaded in the supplied CD alongwith the P910.

Airtel charges 199 rs pm for unlimited access through gprs. Thats what i use. But its not available on pre paid cards. For 499 a month, orange has a 100 MB data limit. Every 10 kb over the limit is charged 50 ps. Thats a ripoff.
