i've been handed a t630 that is continually restarting. it is unlocked and unbranded, i can switch it on but within a minute it turns of and restarts.

in the limeted time it gives i've been able to try all the service tests and i have found that the real time clock test fails!!.. never heard of this before i've done a search on here and google but have found only descriptions of what the real time clock does nothing about it failing

can anyone help with ideas of what i can try, the phone dosn't give me enough time to do a master reset

JN i wouldn't let this case put you off as i've known hundreds of people that have been using these phones without a problem. i do lots of repairs to mobile and this is the first time i've come accross this with any phone

but on a side note i've noticed the k700i has dropped dramaticly in price over the last couple of weeks. only £179 on mobilefun.co.uk now was nearly £100 more a few weeks ago

it is a software problem, as u mentioned the phone has been unbranded, meaning the previous owner most likely flashed it himself. or her. what you will find is that the 2 flash files used do not match. i am talking about the firmware version. goto service menu then SW information. and on line one and four there should be a number starting with R then a number then C then 3 numbers. for example

r6c005

or r4c003

etc.

if these numbers dont match then it is a firmware mismatch.

hope this helps
