Is it really necessary for it to vibrate?! Surely if u can't hear it ring directly in ur ear its a poor do!
Can vibrate be turned off btw?
Also any improvements over the normal 250? e.g. range, clarity?

Yes they do rock,
I have had my p910i connecting to the powerbook(.5m away) when it picked up the jabra in a cupboard 7 metres away before it picked up the mac.
The other thing is you can use it with skype (VoIP)on your computer. (mac/win) so you don't need a telephonists headset and wires to use that little bit of technology.
Voice clarity is good apart from the usual wind noise across the mike in high winds. Haven't had too much of a problem with voice dialling.just the usual making sure to say the name clearly. haha.

I think the vibrating function is a good first in a bluetooth headset. I usually have my phone and my headset in my pocket when I am walking around, so vibrating would help. In the car my headset is usually on my lap or in my ear, while the phone is in a pocket on the dash. Vibrating would be amazingly helpful in the car because I can't feel the phone.
Had I known about the BT250v earlier I might not have bought the HBH300, but I am happy with my purchase anyway.

he has it in his lap,
God knows why, I admit that I only have it in my ear when driving, I shouldn't be self conscious about having a headset in my ear after wearing a bluesuit for 25 yrs.
and NO its not a bluetoothed suit either hahaha. lol.

I must have looked straight past the "on my lap" bit and just saw "in my ear"
I'd have thought having to fiddle about puttin the headset on while driving (especially a fiddly Jabra!) is just as dangerous, if not more, than using the phone in your hand & defeats the object of havin the headset in the first place somewhat?

I couldn't think of anything more disconcerting than having a headset vibrate in your ear at 85 in the fast lane of the M6 on a sunny day, I would be smacking myself up side the head trying to get the fly out of my ear before I remembered that someone was trying to ring me on the phone. haha.

I admit that I probably should keep my headset in my ear while driving, but I never do. I usually wind up taking it out so that i can hear the music. I have become amazingly good at muting the stereo, putting the headset in and answering it in one swift motion using only one hand. Its still better than holding the phone because my hand is only occupied while putting the headset on. Plus I don't touch the phone to dial, instead I put the headset on and voicedial.
I don't imagine it would be fun to have it vibrate while in your ear, but you can't always hear it ring if it isn't in your ear...

Vibrate function can be turned off at any time, but I prefer to have it on. When I am outdoors I clearly know, that someone is calling me..otherwise I might have missed some of my calls. With regards to clarity and range, the first one is 9 out of 10 and the second one - 7/10. I usually don't use my bt headset further than 3-4 meters.
Anyhow, it rockz. At first I started laughing when I heard about vibrate function, but now I understand that it is irreplaceable!
