I have had a P800 on Orange UK since 2003 and am looking to upgrade. However it seems there is no phone out there that has the three main features I want;

1. PDA functions same/equal to P800
2. Megapixel Camera
3. 3G capabilities (I'm not interested in downloading wallpapers, or music videos but using my phone as modem for my laptop and using the phone with 3G access for email would be of great use!

How come there's nothing on offer in the UK (on any network) that has all three, I would have thought it was probably a very in-demand spec?

Can anyone suggest anything?

I'm tempted to get a P910i because my P800 has been great, but the camera is lacking and there's no 3G.

The Nokia 6630 is pretty good (soon to be followed by the 6680) in terms of camera/3G, but it falls down on the PDA functions.

This is so frustrating!

The funny thing is that there is just the phone, which has everything that you said, Its that Vodaphone 3G Pocket PC phone, with a keyboard, can't remeber the exact model number, but i'm sure some who does, will post it here.

I quote:

T-Mobile USA hasn’t even announced their plans for 3G, so it’ll be ages before we even see a phone like this from them here in the US, but T-Mobile Deutschland just announced the MDA IV, a (large) new Pocket PC Phone with everything you’d want: it’s compatible with high-speed UMTS wireless networks (which Cingular is building out right now), and has a VGA resolution LCD screen (that rotates and flips around if you want to use the MDA IV as a regular PDA), a built-in QWERTY keyboard, WiFi, Bluetooth, and two digital cameras (one for stills, one for video calls).

I personally wouldn't want it, but this meets all your requirements, except maybe, looks?

I want a phone with a micro wave!!!

Come on SE make a phone to meet my needs.

I know i've gone to an extreme but thats what your basically saying. Technology progression and market price is something that means minority needs are always side lined for the main stream public.

True, but all of these features are obviously deemed in demand by the majority as they're widely available, so why not all in one device? How many P910 users would not want the option of 3G & a megapixel camera?

I get what people are saying - I was just looking for suggestions for what might suite my need best!

The three things you mentioned are availible, but currently 3G phone chipsets are large and bulky so give it time. Camera is just a novelty feature P1000 will no doubt support the current SE standard 2Mp.

Its all a matter of waiting. SE know where their going their just taking their time.

Hey man, check out that t-mobile, If it doesn't suit you, then look at a 7710.

7710:

* PDA (kinda obvious)
* 1MPx Camera
* EDGE (EDGE = 3G minus Videocall, gives great speeds.)
