my boyfriend gave me his old p910i. and when i woke up this morning the touchscreen wasnt doing anything. ive tried turning it on and off and nothing happened. he told me to try master reset, but without the touchscreen i cant get into this. so using the service menu i formatted it (?) and now everything is gone but the screen still wont work.

please help. im scared.

is there any way i can get into the master reset without the touchscreen.

i guess im probably going to have to take it into a shop.

ANY suggestions would be so appreciated.

im almost 100% sure you can master reset with jog dial. if you do that and it still doesnt work, plug it into your sync station and update the firmaware through SE site, even if you already have the latest firmware it should fix it. good luck.

Hi cmorebutt6969!

Sorry to hear you've been through this beforre and that a replacement, I suppose was the rmedy.

Anyway, do you mind telling us a bit on what may have caused your touchscreen to go bust?

Cheers

Technophobe, still go on and try the update thingy. I doubt your boyfriend gave you a phone thats meant to be worried about.

@ Technophobe
Hi, I've seen 2 p900 with the same problem, both times something had lodged itself in between the screen and the casing, right at the edge of the screen. This made the screen think it was being constantly pressed at this point. I used the corner of a piece of paper and ran it around the edge of the screen to dislodge the grit.
Hope this helps before you have to mess about with hard resets etc.
