Hmmm, im afraid that's most likely not possible.

Unless you have a display for use as a PC monitor and TV (tipically the most recent and bigger LCD's)

Doesn't your VGA card has a DVI-in in port?

Kinda pointless watching a dvd on an lcd display designed for a pc because the pc screen is made for close up use the resoloution on a tv for instance is alot differant to that of a pc

Thats easy, first get a drill (or anything that makes a hole). Drill a hole anywhere on the moniter. Get the dvd cable, dunk it in pva glue, shove it in the hole and it should stay, of course u can weld or solder it on to be safe. But beware it may not work, im not 100% sure. Exactly, but if you were REALLY interested, and especially if you had an Xbox or something that supports HDTV, you CAN work it.

There are converters that work quite nicely, such as:

If your DVD player has a DVI out socket then you can get a DVI-SVGA adaptor from just about any PC shop, they usually cost £2-£3 GB

But as far as I know, DVD players don't usually have DVI out. Not sure if you can get SCART-DVI or SCART-SVGA converters, I've never seen one advertised anywhere
