Hi all
I am finally getting the P800 that I have been dreaming about for years, I got it second hand from a tech forum communities own version of eBay for £70, plus (I just found out) it will cost me an extra £10 to unlock it for my network

. This wasn't a great deal, as I could have probably (I just found out) got one in better quality and already unlocked on eBay, but at least there are no risks this way, he is driving up from London to deliver it himself, as he is buying an i700 from someone up here and has family up here anyway.
Anyway, I was just wondering, what can I do with my p800? I already know that it has a camera and can only take 128Mb cards, but can I play gameboy/nes/snes/gba/sega ROMs on it? Can I surf the net on it (I am only on pay as you go though). Will it cure me of being unpopular!?! I don't know, but what I do know is that it comes with the docking port, so I shall be able to connect it to my pc, and just, ummm, off the record I have no problems with "obtaining" software by methods of not paying for them
Or am I really better off selling it on eBay as soon as I get it, save £10 on unlocking the network, and try to make my £70 back? I do really love the phone though, the look of it, but maybe it won't keep up with current expectations like it would have 3 years ago?

The p800 is an awesome phone! And I think you're not getting all that bad a deal with the 80 quid thing, 'cause I mean, its worth it

I know what ya mean

i used to oggle at the 3D P800 thing on the ericsson site, it was amazing you could even have a little demo of the software on it

The memory thing sucks, just 128Mb, but I like the look of the p800 much more than the p900 or p910. It looks much more fun, yet still classy. Its my dream phone, even thoguh I've never held one
Considering my current phone is a second hand T300, that has a shattered case and has real trouble with voice calls, I'd say that it would be hard for me not to be impressed with the p800
But Im not sure about what it can do, there must be a thousand cool things it can do, games it can play and all sorts, but its hard to find anything about it on google, putting "roms" and "p800" in a search brings up virus' and virus warnings!

If it was me, I'd go for a good sale on eBay, if its reasonable condition you can get £100 or more but you need a good listing! (I got £110 for mine about 1-2months ago, but I sell eBay Listings for a living

)
Then after that, Buy a P900 (got one unlocked and perfect cond. for £120)
And upgrade firmware on it if you can..
So in effect I upgraded my P800 to a P900 for a tenner!!
Nice one..

Do you really sell on ebay for a living? I've always thought about it, but never thought how it would be possible. The money sure would come in handy as I can't work at the moment
Did you get a P900 from ebay for £120? I searched before about P800s, the prices really can vary, from £60 to £150 (although most of the 150 and aboves were bidders that never payed and have no ratings. Grrrr, why do they do that?).
I do love the look of the p800 better, but when it comes down to beer and knuckles, a p900 would be better

The best deal I can find on 128mb duos is £24.39 incl delivery, is that good? And how many of the things should I get, mine will come with a 16mb duo
Can the p900 play snes roms, what are the improvements and big differences between the two?

C'mon, no one buys mobiles to talk on these days
Those Duos were only made between 16 - 128mb it seems, which just sucks. But then again I am the sort of person that likes to buy lots of little mem cards on the cheap, so if one fails i still havn't lost all my data. But the very nature of the p800 demands it to have loads of storage without needing to swap. Curse you sony!!!!
What can fit on a 128mb duo? Could I fit spiderman 2 on it? Can the p800 play old dos games, like original civilization? I had another go on the 3d model at se site, couldnt try the p900 or p910 though. And whatever happened to the p810?
